# Student Handbook

# Introduction

Welcome PCSO! Congratulations on being accepted into the Police Force, we hope you are looking forward to your Police career!

This leaflet is here to provide you with the necessary information to help you understand your role as a PCSO, along with the instructions on how to carry out your job effectively. As a PCSO, your primary role is to learn and understand the rules of the server, the guidelines of being a member of the Police and how to react in different and difficult situations, whilst maintaining a high standard of roleplay.

# Code of Conduct

As a member of the Police, you are expected to conduct yourself in game and on teamspeak in the same way. The Code of Conduct states that you should treat anybody, regardless if it is a civilian or a colleague, with respect, dignity and tolerance. Never try to become personal towards anyone. As a member of the Police, with any action you take you are representing the Police Force as a whole, and so you are encouraged to set an example. Never resort to being offensive to anyone or be generally toxic.

When you are in-game, treat civilians with respect. Try to be there to help civilians as this is your job; you can do anything from repairing their vehicle to escorting them whilst they’re doing a legal run. Try to do everything in your power to improve relations and provide roleplay with the civilian population.

Police are urged not to be aggressive to civilians or rebels alike; we should always maintain a certain degree of dignity when dealing with situations, even when someone is being detained.

# Controls

To Restrain Someone:- SHIFT+R.

Remember you are not allowed, under any circumstances, to restrain anyone without asking to put their hands-up. If the person does not comply after multiple warnings then you can taze him and then proceed to restrain him. Do not just walk up to the person-in-question and restrain him without warning, as this is Fail RP. Once you have restrained someone you MUST read them their rights.

To Search an Individual or a Vehicle:- Windows Key & Press ‘Search’.

When searching a suspect, you need to have reasonable grounds to be searching him, To have reasonable grounds, the suspect needs to be within 1km of a drug field/drug processing and/or the drug dealer. You can also search the person if they have been seen committing a crime with an illegal weapon. Do not stop and search without reasonable suspicion.

To Check Licences (With or Without Restraints):- Windows Key

Use the windows key to check the license of a suspect that is in restraints for whatever reason. If you want to check a civilian’s licences without restrains (to improve RP), then windows key the civilian.

To Ticket a Civilian (With or Without Restraints):- Windows Key.

Use the Windows Key to ticket the civilian if he is in restraints. Use Windows key to ticket a compliant civilian who does not need to be restrained (e.g. issuing a speeding ticket). REMEMBER: To issue the ticket you need to say (example given):

‘I’m going to be giving you a ticket of £25,000 to you today for having possession of an illegal firearm, under the Section 3 of the Firearms Act 1968. You have three chances to pay this ticket, if you do not pay this ticket by the third chance, then you will be sent to jail. Do you understand?’

Make sure to be very clear & firm in what you say, and make sure the suspect understands what you’re saying. When you’re giving a ticket, the Police Handbook has all the correct values and ranges of the ticket to the crime. For example, if you want to seize an illegal weapon from a civilian and he is being compliant, friendly and generally not being a threat to you or your colleagues, then give him a lower value ticket than the set ticket value – it is really down to your discretion – act within reason and how you see fit. REMEMBER: the maximum ticket you are allowed to issue is £500,000. Anything over £500,000 means that you have to send the suspect to jail.

To Escort:- Windows Key & Press ‘Escort’.

Whilst escorting an individual you can also put him in a vehicle and to do so, just go up to your vehicle of choice and press Windows Key + ‘Put in Vehicle’. You can also pull the individual out the vehicle by pressing Windows Key + ‘Pullout Players’. Note this will only pull out civilians, not any Police Officers.

To Remove Weapons/Seize Illegal Items:- Windows Key > ‘Seize Illegal Items’.

To warn a helicopter to leave the area:- ‘ALT+1’.

If a helicopter is flying low following you or illegally landing, you can warn it to leave by pressing the key binding. This will send an automated message to ask the civilians to leave. If the helicopter does not leave, fire non-lethal rounds around the helicopter. If it does not leave then you are allowed to shoot it down. NOTE: Try not to shoot at the pilot to kill him.
