# Who are we and What do we do:

The Marine Policing Unit (MPU) is a specialized team within the Altis Police Department that has the responsibility of patrolling the waters and shore around Altis. The officers in this unit undergo training to handle various waterborne emergencies and incidents. They carry out tasks such as patrolling known drug trafficking routes and safeguarding legal trade routes. They also protect police assets situated close to the shore and are always ready to provide assistance to other units when called upon. With their specialized skills and expertise, the MPU is an essential part of the Altis Police Department's efforts to maintain public safety and security in the area.

# How to join MPU:

If you're interested in joining the Marine Policing Unit (MPU), you need to be at least a Senior Police Constable rank. You should also possess good communication and teamwork skills, be familiar with water-based vehicles and combat, and have read and understood the MPU handbook. Additionally, you must exhibit a high level of roleplay and professionalism.

Once you fill out the interest form, a member of command will reach out to you for an introduction. During the introduction, your qualifications will be assessed to ensure that you meet the requirements for joining the MPU. If you meet the qualifications, you'll become a trial marine and be shadowed by team leads and command for a minimum of 7 days and a maximum of 14 days. Your performance and behavior within the unit will be closely monitored during this period.

If you successfully complete the trial, you'll be promoted to a full marine in the next police meeting. However, if you don't pass the trial phase, you'll be removed from the unit and put on a cooldown of 14 days. It's important to note that being put on cooldown doesn't mean that you're blacklisted from the unit. You're still allowed to ride along on patrols during the cooldown period.

If you have any questions about joining the MPU, don't hesitate to contact MPU command.

# Ride alongs

Ride alongs are officers that want to try out the unit or wish to prove themself to members of the unit. Because of the nature of the unit, a ride along will be provided with full diving gear and an SDAR rifle. Ride along´s are not allowed to drive a water based vehicle on their own although when in combat this rule does not apply. There can only be 2 ride along´s on MPU patrol at all times. The ride along needs to be approved by the highest ranking member of MPU in the patrol.
